What Multiverse Is This? - Among Us

In the bustling heart of Mumbai—a city that thrives on its contradictions—something otherworldly stirs. Beneath the chaotic surface of crowded trains, bustling markets, and monsoon-soaked streets, a clandestine presence lingers.

Meet the “Mumbaikar Aliens”: They walk among us, these enigmatic beings. Their skin shimmers like iridescent silk, their eyes hold secrets older than time, and their laughter echoes across the beach of Juhu Chowpaty. They sip cutting chai at street stalls, ride rickshaws through traffic snarls, and blend seamlessly into the vibrant tapestry of Mumbai life.

Partners in Hustle: They could be your local chaiwalla running a tapri joint, a friendly cab driver, or the tiffin delivery dabbawala. In this alternate universe their spaceships are a common fixture on the Mumbai skyline.

This multiverse Mumbai is home to aliens who have coexisted with Humans for centuries, I used Midjourney to render these concept images to imagine the daily life of an 'Alien Mumbaikar'

Spirit of Mumbai - A Satire Poster Series

Mumbai is known for the grit and resolve of its people, who keep the city going. As a Mumbaikar by birth, I watched the city evolve as I grew and found it slowly crushing under the expectations and troubles of an overcrowded population.

Despite the additions to infrastructure and an effort to improve the quality of life for its citizens, the apathy to civic issues leaves a lot to be desired. I created this satire poster series that puts the indomitable 'Spirit of Mumbai' in the spotlight.

Jalshrushti Island Resort - Hidden Gem

Many resorts have come up around Pune over past few years offering good excursion options for travellers, Mulshi is no exception to this trend however Mulshi is more of a one day picnic destination and more popular during monsoon season due to scenic beauty that descends on Tamhini Ghat.

Jalsrushti Island Resort is a hidden gem waiting to be explored for travelers visiting Mulshi, TripAdvisor community is really helpful in discovering places like this. Reaching this resort is easy from Pune city taking Mulshi Paud route via Chandni Chowk and in an hour you reach in a different world altogether away from city buzz.

There is a huge advertisement board just ahead of Jamgaon village showing direction to Jalsrushti leading to parking area. An attendant confirmed our reservation and guided us to a stairway, a small ferry operates on a pulley rope transferring guests across the river stream to resort.

Checking in at reception was fast and easy, greeted with a welcome drink on arrival. I was impressed by the well curated landscape with beautiful walkway winding across the resort real estate. We got a pond facing room Jalaka which was really beautiful and I liked the way it was themed like a tropical getaway wooden cabin equipped with retro light and switch fittings.

We knew that this resort did not have AC making us feel little doubtful if cooler would suffice for the crazy summer heat we are experiencing in Pune this year, surprisingly our stay was pleasant and with so much greenery around with constant flow of soothing breeze we did not even need the AC. Resort management has got most cabins covered with dry grass on roof with water sprinklers running during the day to keep ceiling cool.

There is not much to do at the resort so be prepared to get your lazy self out and savor the beauty of nature, it's pure bliss having tea and snacks during evening at the seating area outside cabin facing pond, keep your camera handy as exotic birds may just pay a visit as this resort is built on Mula river Biopark premise.

Kids may get bored with limited rides in the garden area so TV comes in handy to keep them entertained. In the evening I took my son to the pool which is also clean and well maintained. One can buy swimming costume also from the resort. Room service is swift and food is also good with enough variety. You can ask for anything specific kids like to have for breakfast or lunch/dinner. Staff is very courteous to oblige to your food request in best possible way they can.
Evening dinner has barbecue option accompanied with live Karaoke session by Lotus Shine event group from Pune, there are Ghazal nights also arranged at the resort. As a resort promoting agri tourism I found variety of trees and different fruit plantations in their premises along with poultry birds like Hen and Turkeys roaming around in the resort.

It is really commendable to manage this property almost bug free for a land mass surrounded by water body, we were expecting some company from natures friends post sunset with so many incests that get attracted to light, they were present as anticipated however we did not experience any nuisance on this front at all.

Our visit to Jalsrushti resort was a memorable one and I would surely recommend it for couples, families and friends who would love to take a break worth enjoying here and leave recharged back to the grind.

Pros:
Professionally managed property
Excellent location
Staff Service is also good
Great potential to develop as an excellent luxury resort.

Suggestion for improvement:

Organize a guided tour for guests explaining flora and fauna at the resort with little info on birds that are found around the premise.

Food quality needs attention at least for the breakfast, some items on the menu tasted very bland. Main course items also are tad oily which can be improved.

There is scope to introduce boat ride across the river stream if they get permission from authorities to do so, also resort needs some additional entertainment activities going forward which can attract corporate outing events.

Returning to my Passion - Comic Con Express Mumbai

Comic Con Express Mumbai

My summer vacations at school turned out a challenge for my dad to keep me busy and engaged, for which he found a solution I would be thankful to him for rest of my life. He got me enrolled to a library which opened door's to my creativity through comics, If not just library, i used to visit Wheeler stand at Mulund railway station to grab my favorite comics and every time I used to travel during my vacations I always carried a good collection of comics to pass time during train travel. It was great to relish few days off school embracing stories of Spiderman, Batman, Superman and host of Indian comic characters from the house of Amar Chitra Katha, Diamond Comics and Raj Comics. There came a time I was not ready to let go off my growing comic book collection right from my childhood to the time I was in college, I never missed out on catching up to comics even after I started working and a event like Comic Con was just the right recipe to get my tastebuds tingling for the love of comics.

I enjoyed 2 day Comic Con Express event held at World Trade Center, Mumbai, Cosplay participants got the mood of the event going. 1st day at the event saw decent crowd, there were close to 40 Exhibitors at the event which included popular brands like BSA, Funskool, Amar Chitra Katha, Diamond Comics, Inkfruit.com, WYO, 9XM, Buzzinga, Animagic. I was impressed by the effort made by upcoming publishers like Vimanika Edutainment, Holy Cow Entertainment, Sufi Comics, Level 10 comics who have the potential to get our generation hooked to gadgets and gizmos into reading a comic book once again.

An event which saw launch of close to 15 new titles, VJ Cyrus Broacha, VJ Manish Anand and VJ Juhi, Ankit V from TechGuru were spotted at the event with a stage appearance by Irrfan Khan for the launch of Munkeeman comic title created by Abhishek Sharma (Director: Tere Bin Laden). Some stalls also had live artists, Mario De Miranda's art collection was impressive with lot of curious audience turning up at Sufi Comics stand to take a look at spirtualism in a totally new avatar, Sunday saw more crowds drawing in with lot of kids as well with their parents enjoying the event. there were few independent artists too who had set up their stalls showcasing their talent which is truly a great platform to bring out your creative talents and get "Discovered". Amar Chitra Katha has made a foray into Animation which was showcased with a promising sneak peek feature for Sons of Rama series.

Stall owners / Publishers were keen enough to answer queries and interact freely with audience/ visitor's, SRK's Ra.One also made it's presence felt at the event selling Ra.One merchandise, Vendor's like Bombay Merch and Buzzinga had a great collection of poster's, tee's and comic figurine's to choose from. I got myself good collection of comics after a quite long time, hardly remember if I went shopping for comics.

Upcoming event is again returning to Delhi next year, Destination Delhi next year ??? Comic Con just got me back to my passion for comics. check out some links to pic albums/ promo videos for this event.

Mild Earthquake Hits Maharashtra

http://questgarden.com/71/26/9/081013095448/images/earthquake1.jpg
A Mild Earthquake on a Richter scale of 4.75 hits Koyna region between 6:45 pm - 6:50 pm today evening, tremors were felt in Mumbai, Pune, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, as per some geologist who was on Star Majha was informing that the earthquakes sesmic waves could have travelled between 300-350 kms range based on the Richter scale it has struck, i did feel the tremors while i was on the couch playing with my kid.

Well i had watched 2012 today at Inox, Typhoon Phyan has sprung enough problems for us already, i am more worried about the drama India TV and Aaj Tak with some other cheapo channels would cook up, harping again and again on doomsday "SPECIAL" shows, even the gods would get frustrated and end the world before 2012, i hope they don't watch these channels up there.

November rains are unsual in India, however the climatic conditions in our country are no longer unaffected by the Global Warming phenomenon, it's just that we do not appreciate what we have right now with us, Wall-E movie was one good movie which again made us realize how proud are we on our scientific developments, our commercial growth, knowing that we are growing by digging our own graves, it sounds exciting to find water on moon, but is it a good excuse to find a new home after destroying the place where we stay right now.

On a lighter note, after watching 2012 i just know now, when apocalypse hits earth, find a "Made in China" built Ark to board, you would be safe!
