First D-Day, now D-Day aftermath

It just came to my mind how Hollywood has evolved from making movies with doomsday theme, showing situations signaling our planet’s end, movies like Armageddon, Independence day, Deep Impact, Resident evil (Part I), AVP these movies focused on threats coming from space, aliens and virus outbreaks, which would ring the death knell for our planet, such movies also had innovative ideas with our heroes rescuing the planet in the nick of time.

Now we have a slew of movies being made which focus on the aftermath and after affects of a catastrophe, be it asteroid impact, virus outbreak, left over survivors battling nature, army of the undead, or human droids. Resident evil movie has continued with it’s story in a similar fashion, AVP 2 was a flop movie, showing how earth has become a playground for Aliens and Predators to play for.

We had The day after tomorrow, 28 weeks later movie, another movie Doomsday on the anvil, Will smith portraying legend to the mankind surviving the aftermath of a virus outbreak, we have moved on with our creativity to assume that human race can survive a global disaster against all odds and be it global warming, alien attack, virus out break’s, the hope is still alive in HOLLYWOOD, so it is with the mankind.
Rising Finally, Down under

Our Men in blue have finally nailed down Australian team ego and arrogance by clinching the CB One day series, This series now paves way to an interesting rivalry developing on personal and cricketing front amongst the players and the teams, for me India Vs Australia encounters would be more interesting rather than India Vs Pakistan matches.

India was definitely aware that they would be facing fireworks in form of on field sledging and hostile treatment from Australian crowd, however it further degraded to pathetic level of umpiring and on-field cheating from the Australian skipper and his team mates, specially Andrew Symonds and Mathew Hayden hogging the limelight.

Kumble and Dhoni both backed the players well and responded fittingly to the comments made by the aussie team players, media still maintaining their cool during the matches while playing, BCCI also taking a hard stand on the racism issue raised against Harbhajan boosted team members spirits.

We put up a brave face both on the ground and off the ground, emerging real winners, in terms of the character, performance, team bonding. Which now shows Indian players, whether bowlers, batsmen are no more just good on papers but can display extra-ordinary performance on the ground when needed.

This tour has being a good one for players like, Ishant Sharma, Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir, Rohit Sharma, Praveen Kumar, Dhoni, Harbhajan, Kumble.

I would not say that we have displaced Australia from the top position, however we have given them a strong message of not taking Indian’s lightly, be it on the ground or dealing verbally off the ground. We are not supposed to be treated as dirt of someone’s leg.
