Philips - (NON)Sense & Simplic(COMPLEX)ity

The image “http://www.mobile-t-mobile.com/uimg/PhilipsLogo.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.
I am on a terrible ordeal of constant follow ups with Philips customer care from July 2008 for a HTS i brought from Croma Electronics, model 3366/98 which has amazing sound output and i really felt i found a good HTS finally, however my happiness was short lived, i found the DVD unit getting heated up too fast and i started encountering DVD freezing problem after DVD playback of around 1hr or so, however video cd's, music cd's and USB playback works fine, i first got the DVD unit exchanged with Croma, they played a DVD in the store before handing me the new DVD unit, however i was still to realize the actual problem used to start after 50 mins to 1 hr of DVD playback.

Luckily i have my Xbox 360 console to rescue, which plays DVD's but i feel bit weird playing with multiple remotes just to watch a DVD, so Philips definitely did not make my movie viewing experience simple, the service engineers are laidback and you have to call them again and again to remind them that your problem is not solved, now after experimenting all ways with my DVD player, they decided to give me a product replacement.
http://www.consumer.philips.com/catalog/HT/HTS3366_98_webImage370.jpg

The service engineer tried changing the product firmware, did not work and now i decided to choose a new model which is yet to arrive in stores i suppose, but they do not know the price of that model and they ask me to pay differential amount in case i go for a HTS model expensive than my current HTS, else they would not refund me differential amount in case i choose less expensive HTS model, clear cheating !

I choose tower speaker model for better rear sound output effect since i can't fix speakers on my wall, due to my sofa and living room furniture arrangement, so what's the point for going in for crappy small HTS models?, i am really pissed off and waiting when my ordeal with them would end, i gradually realised that the model i brought is never being advertised in any media, so maybe these cheapos wanted to sell off this faulty model with whatever units they had sold to stores.

Need of Private Power Company

Maharashtra state electricity board is in a hapless condition, there seems to be some kind of a temporary halt to load shedding from last 2 weeks in Pune the time Ganesh festival began, don't know how long it would continue this way, however i stay under group C area of load shedding for MSEDCL in Pune, so the total load shedding for this area is 7.15 hours, i was wondering when should one do their household chores, since i spend at least 8 hours in sleep, 9 hours in office, so balance 7 hours at home i should spend without power due to low capacity power generating plants of MSEB, and it's inability to curb power theft.

MSEDCL has erratic power cut schedule, so you keep wondering when the power would go and this erratic poer cut schedule also at times causes damage to electrical equipments at home which these government goons are not going to pay up to anyone.

I believe we cannot stay in a world where in name of subsidised power we keep bearing such issues year on year where the state run power corporation is unable to meet power demands of growing cities, unless citizens would not bear the brunt of high cost power made available through private players wasting of power would not stop, also private companies would bring in at least some mode of transparency in it's operation, if power goes off with MSEB you cannot abuse or scream at government officials,  it's useless they are least bothered, at least you may find some cushioning to your bursting anger with a contact center of a private operator.

A solution has to be worked out between private and state run power companies to supply power to city areas comprising of consumers with a capacity to pay for uninterrupted power supply and continue supplying power to areas known to have consumers from low income group and poor category which cannnot afford high cost of power through the state run power group, industries malls, shops and establishments should be given an open opportunity to choose their power supplier, since they would choose it from their capacity to pay up for power needs of their business.

Mumbai has seen reliance power take over majority of the power supply apart from suburbs though costly but trouble freel, consumers did repel initially but for now at least they do not have to suffer power cuts.

The frustration within me is growing so badly, however cannot do anything, as the situation is going to grow grim ahead as well, till the time we see some development on the nuclear energy front, lets hope 123 nuclear deal agreement does some good to India.

Portable Technology, Indian Scenario

I was reading an article in a magazine about usage of Internet gathering popularity on portable devices, yes that's true for sure in European countries, USA and south-east Asian countries like Japan and cities like Hong Kong, Singapore.

We are witnessing a flood of mobile handsets being launched every another day and I-phone 3G knocking on Indian shores, however the power of all such high-end devices is rendered useless in India due to never ending delay in the launch of 3G services and handsets with HSDPA technology also available in India, forget watching streaming TV in India at least for another 3 years.

Our so called 'Broadband' services are strangely priced and provided to consumers in India, the basic infrastructure is weak and above that there is a cap to bandwidth which hinders actual growth of Internet, I feel you tube and other video sharing sites have exciting content to offer but I just get let down by the 'streaming' and 'buffering' drama and never feel the fun of having an unlimited connection which drags on playing internet multimedia.

Mobile operators in India have weak customer support for users who want to use mobile internet technologies, since the handset list keeps growing; it becomes more complex for a lay man who has never used a computer to fiddle around with the settings on a high-end mobile device, though he may take all the pride of owning the latest gadget.

Also the data cards available in India today are just good for emailing and casual surfing, they cannot be used for downloads or multimedia browsing on internet, for me mobile internet is just a emergency backup and not a full fledged internet device for me, it's way too inconvenient to type a paragraph on your mobile, whether it be a touch screen phone or a normal high-end mobile phone.

Mobile browsers also are not capable of handling all website displays, their RAM power cannot be compared to a PC, the temporary memory cache gets over flooded very soon, also imagine you took a live video of music concert and try to upload it via you tube application now available on some high-end phones, you would just watch the phone uploading the clip endlessly and miss the concert, probability is that your GPRS or EDGE connection may time out.

I have just given up on my dream of having a properly functional portable internet technology in India as of now, since we have more important issues like poverty, hunger and Inflation to deal with... (Don’t know for how many years.. Sigh!)
Truly GAME ON

The gaming bug in me has being awakened by the arrival of Xbox 360, my wife got this console as a prize from a campaign her team won in the office, I always used to skip buying my favourite games on my PC since the gaming configurations keep going up every time, and I find it useless to keep upgrading my PC ram and processor and graphic card for just gaming, so Xbox 360 came as a blessing for me.

Box Content: Xbox 360 Pro console contains Xbox 360 console, a brick charger, Component HD AV Cable, Ethernet cable, A gaming headset, media remote, one wireless controller, 20 GB HDD, manuals, warranty card, alkaline batteries for remote and wireless controller, I also received two free games along with the console, Viva Pinata and Forza Motor racing 2.

Console Details: Xbox 360 pro console is sleek and can be placed horizontally or vertically, its white in look and has chrome finish on sides, on the front panel you have disc loading tray and two slots for memory units (sold separately), a protected slot having 2 USB ports, on the back you have power connection slot, a Ethernet port, extra USB port, HD AV cable connectivity port, Digital output port (used for digital audio cable).

Configuration: I have a Philips 32TA800 LCD TV which is HD ready, setting up the console is easy and I connected the component HD AV cable to my televisions composite video ports, connected audio output to my Artis S6600 5.1 speakers, I set my TV display to 1080i setting (1920 X 1080 resolution = 2,073,600 pixels) then set the cable option to HDTV mode (it has TV mode as well for playing games on normal televisions), I began my console set up after powering it on, created my Gamer tag (gaming profile), the gaming experience was 'AWESOME'.

Console Navigation: Xbox console has a really cool dashboard which can be customized in terms of colours and you can even keep your preferred images in the dashboard background. It had 5 dashboard blades, Market place, Xbox Live, Games, Media and System these dashboard options are easy to access, you would not require much effort to navigate through them, you also have an option for configuring family settings for games in case you have a child at home and you would not want your child to play certain genre of games.

Console performance: I have begun playing all 6 game titles I have with me ( Viva Pinata, Forza Motorsport racing 2, WWE RAW Vs Smackdown 2008, Army of Two, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Halo 3), game play clarity on HD mode is 'Amazing', I checked the visual quality on normal TV mode, where the video quality takes a slight hit, still playable in case one does not have a HDTV or HD ready TV. I did not experience any game lag during the game play and graphics delivered by the console are top notch and flawless, playing with wireless controller is fun, you just need to pair the wireless controller once to the console and controller buttons and joysticks are easy to use, you wont end up paining your fingers once you are done gaming, with a great audio and visual clarity the game play becomes immersive, you can also play your own soundtrack in the background while playing a game, this feature is game based.

Beyond Gaming: Xbox 360 pro does not just play games, it has windows media center connectivity option to connect your windows based pc to Xbox, you can dump your existing DVD player since you can view your favourite movies on Xbox, with the latest software upgrade for Xbox you can also view DivX files on Xbox, it allows mp3 playback and movie playback from USB devices as well, surprisingly it would not play a VCD, you can connect your mp3 player, or Ipod, digital camera to play music or view photographs on Xbox, it also provides song ripping option in case you want to load tracks to Xbox hard drive from a music CD, with the media remote you can operate multimedia features easily and even record live TV in case your PC is equipped with TV tuner card is connected to a set-top box.

Xbox Live service: Microsoft offers free silver membership to online service for Xbox 360 called Xbox Live, I connected to this service by connecting the console to my laptop by sharing my wi-fi connection through my router in my other room, I got 1 month trial Gold membership of Xbox Live service, this feature allows you to watch new game trailers, download game demos and participate in live gaming events, download Xbox arcade games, you can also share your gamer achievement score which you keep scoring in different games as you unlock various challenges in a game.

Support & Warranty: Xbox 360 console has being criticized to be a noisy console, heating up fast and the most famous RRoD (Red ring of death) problem most consoles have reported to encounter, but I have observed that my console has no problems with regards to over-heating or being too noisy as I have played games at a stretch for 4-5 hours, in terms of warranty Microsoft offers 3 years warranty against RRoD problem with console replacement and 1 year warranty for other issues. You can be a part of buzzing Xbox forums on Xbox website which offer lot's of tips and tricks to play games from members across the globe, other discussion topics on Xbox.

Why Xbox ?: Its very difficult to choose between two major gaming consoles Xbox 360 & PS3, Nitendo Wii is still not officially released in India, its available through grey market, PS3 is gaining popularity slowly and has less number of game titles as of now which cost mostly near 3000 bucks and above, while Xbox 360 has impressive line up of gaming titles with backward playing compatibility of few Xbox games, apart from that a windows based PC is bound to connect seamlessly with Xbox compared to a PS3, both PS3 and Xbox 360 have their pros and cons, but I am happy with the performance of Xbox which combines features of a gaming and entertainment device. In India Xbox 360 games are available in a range of Rs 999 to Rs 2510.

Why gaming consoles: We all like to play games and spending money on a PC to upgrade graphic card, memory and storage turns out to be an expensive affair which is not affordable every time, Sony PS2 is the largest selling console till date and is still alive and kicking with a huge library of game titles and new games still being churned out for this console, it also happens to be the largest sold console in India, so consoles stand to gain a upper hand due to extended shelf life they enjoy, the flip side to console gaming is expensive game titles, unlike cheaper PC games and pirated game CDs available for PCs, Sony PS2 gained popularity in India because PS2 has a slew of pirated games and this console has being cracked long back, whereas Xbox 360 also has being hacked, the hardware has to be modded, but it voids the warranty, PS3 is still not cracked.(I personally would not encourage hacking your console to play pirated games), so with gaming consoles extending their capabilities to become a complete multimedia device, it makes sense to invest in a gaming console.

So if you are a gaming freak, and would like to enjoy cutting edge graphics Xbox 360 is a good choice, in Pune I have seen retailers selling Xbox 360 at a price of Rs 27,750 and Rs 23,990, some give no free cds, some give 2 free cds(Viva Pinata, Forza Motorsport Racing 2) and some 4 cds (Project Gotham Racing, Yuvraj Singh International Cricket, Viva Pinata, Forza Motorsport Racing 2), check out Planet M store at M.G Road in Pune they have a Halo 3 edition with 4 free CDs for Rs 23,990.

Lost Season 4 – Finally some answers

I have being following television series LOST from the mid episodes of season 1, the show has now entered season 4 and for some it may seem to be a drag, but I am still enjoying watching each episode of this series and the greed to watch some more does not go.

I have being watching season 4 on the web, since it is yet to be broadcasted in India, the most moving episode of this season was the 5th episode which revolves around the life of Desmond Humes. This episode unveils many answers to questions that lot’s of viewers could be having about the mystery of the Island.

This episode reveals few things like:

1) The island is definitely a mysterious place cloaked with a cover of magnetic waves, similar to mystery that shrouds Bermuda triangle, as Frank ( Pilot from freighter), Desmond & Syed fly into dark stormy clouds, the helicopter dashboard indicators go haywire.

2) Faraday ( One of the members from freighter group ) observes some time lapse on the island and the outside world.

3) Distance between the island and the freighter boat is just of 20 mins of air travel, still Desmond, Syed and Frank take more than a day to reach the freighter from the island.

4) While Desmond is doing memory travel from past to future between year 1996 & year 2004, he happens to visit a auction session where parry’s dad win a bid of a strange book of a sailor who happens to be lost on some kind of an island and it’s only the book which is found, the whole crew with the ship and sailor is lost.

5) The guy who is announcer to the bid also says the content of the book is known to no one else the family members of the sailor.

6) It’s here we can relate to a ancient ship that was discovered during season 1 of lost by the crash survivors who got the gun powder to blow up the hatch where Desmond was staying, could this be the ship of the sailor who got lost on this island.

7) Now during season 4 you would discover that only 6 oceanic flight survivors come back home, the fate of rest is unknown, They are Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayed & Sun, the sixth character is still unknown.

8) Also Desmond acquired a power to foresee future after he survived the hatch implosion, since he got exposed to high level of radiation, it gave him this power, well the moment he left the island and was heading towards the freighter he started moving to and fro in time, which is dangerous for him coz his brain would get shot circuited in case he did not have a “constant” to hold on to, which existed both in his past and future.

First D-Day, now D-Day aftermath

It just came to my mind how Hollywood has evolved from making movies with doomsday theme, showing situations signaling our planet’s end, movies like Armageddon, Independence day, Deep Impact, Resident evil (Part I), AVP these movies focused on threats coming from space, aliens and virus outbreaks, which would ring the death knell for our planet, such movies also had innovative ideas with our heroes rescuing the planet in the nick of time.

Now we have a slew of movies being made which focus on the aftermath and after affects of a catastrophe, be it asteroid impact, virus outbreak, left over survivors battling nature, army of the undead, or human droids. Resident evil movie has continued with it’s story in a similar fashion, AVP 2 was a flop movie, showing how earth has become a playground for Aliens and Predators to play for.

We had The day after tomorrow, 28 weeks later movie, another movie Doomsday on the anvil, Will smith portraying legend to the mankind surviving the aftermath of a virus outbreak, we have moved on with our creativity to assume that human race can survive a global disaster against all odds and be it global warming, alien attack, virus out break’s, the hope is still alive in HOLLYWOOD, so it is with the mankind.
Rising Finally, Down under

Our Men in blue have finally nailed down Australian team ego and arrogance by clinching the CB One day series, This series now paves way to an interesting rivalry developing on personal and cricketing front amongst the players and the teams, for me India Vs Australia encounters would be more interesting rather than India Vs Pakistan matches.

India was definitely aware that they would be facing fireworks in form of on field sledging and hostile treatment from Australian crowd, however it further degraded to pathetic level of umpiring and on-field cheating from the Australian skipper and his team mates, specially Andrew Symonds and Mathew Hayden hogging the limelight.

Kumble and Dhoni both backed the players well and responded fittingly to the comments made by the aussie team players, media still maintaining their cool during the matches while playing, BCCI also taking a hard stand on the racism issue raised against Harbhajan boosted team members spirits.

We put up a brave face both on the ground and off the ground, emerging real winners, in terms of the character, performance, team bonding. Which now shows Indian players, whether bowlers, batsmen are no more just good on papers but can display extra-ordinary performance on the ground when needed.

This tour has being a good one for players like, Ishant Sharma, Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir, Rohit Sharma, Praveen Kumar, Dhoni, Harbhajan, Kumble.

I would not say that we have displaced Australia from the top position, however we have given them a strong message of not taking Indian’s lightly, be it on the ground or dealing verbally off the ground. We are not supposed to be treated as dirt of someone’s leg.

Tax for the right cause

Since year 2002, Ireland has imposed 33 cent Plastic bag tax which has brought down usage of plastic bag by 94%, i think UPA government can take a cue out of such success stories and resort to more sensible taxing regime, more on this story here

Live your dreams & Touch the stars !

"Simple yet Spellbinding" are my words for this movie, Taare Zameen par is not just a movie for children, though it carries a important message for parents, i relate this movie equally to adults as well.

Let me put it this way, how many of us are pursuing careers which relate to our interests, current generation of parents are presumed to be more mature in handling children, but that is not the case always, we end up satisfying dreams and ambitions which our parents could not or our siblings could not achieve.

There are few defining moments in the film which moved me, starting with Ishaan’s bunking school, and roaming free in the city, the real world around him seems to be a better teacher and his mind more open and receptive to know things around him, rather than digging through pages of school books.

As a child even i had maths phobia, i can say i still have, i always had a fear in my mind that my homework should be complete, else i would be punished in front of the class, never felt like living life "bindaas" way as ishaan does, it’s this fear of being socially neglected, punished or being left out that keeps us running endlessly, we keep our dreams and aspirations on a back burner, thinking "there is always another day".

In the film ishaan also happens to go on joy ride in his dreams just to solve 3X9 = 3 for a surprise maths exam, the answer is surely wrong but his imagination is amazing, it’s the same joy ride of our dreams that translates into day dreaming which most of us feel is foolishness, but watching dreams with your eyes open can help at times, since many of us have shut the doors of our minds to keep ourselves engaged in our daily chores.

I also loved the scene before the end of the film, where ishaan set’s off early in the morning from the boarding school, gazing at the colour of the sky, besides a pond he stood watching the moon setting on the horizon, the background score to this scene was amazing. The scene where Ishaan’s parents leave him at the boarding school was emotionally sketched to perfection, the small book of the child showing him go away from his parents was a moving image for me.

The world around us influences our behaviour a lot today as compared to influence of family environment, taking up main stream career’s has being a tradition in our country, though we have started seeing the changes, still non conventional jobs are looked down in our country as compared to other countries where even a person working as a fireman, traffic controller etc. take pride in the work they do.

For me this film is two thumbs up for the subject, cinematography, cast, music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and acting by Darsheel and Aamir even actor’s who portrayed Ishaan’s parents did justice to their roles.

I always keep dreaming of making a grand epic war film based on Mahabharata, gaze at the canvas of sky during evening’s when i am at home or while i am out of office, i have missed shooting snaps of skylines so many times, just wishing i had my camera at that moment to capture that beautiful glory of nature, thinking of creative ads related to products, these thoughts just don’t come at leisure times but even during office hour’s, i let my mind free at times to dream, because you never know your dreams may hel you touch the stars one day..

One Dream I want to be true…

As a child, I have read all possible comics of almost all kinds of Super – Heroes, Both Indian & International, of which Batman was always my favourite, I have watched all batman films released till date, followed all animated series on Doordarshan, Cartoon Network and my admiration for this Dark Knight grew always, Then I was bowled over by the charisma of the sci-fi flick Matrix’s character Neo, These two characters have left a deep impact on my mind, I can never forget visuals from movies of these characters, which further propelled my dream to see our own epic Mahabharata and Ramayana to be made into a mega feature film, having a strong potential to enthrall audiences across the world.

I always would rate the efficiency with which the matrix trilogy and Batman Begins was directed, the scene in Batman begins where Bruce Wayne stands surrounded by bats overcoming his childhood fear for bats, with the dark score of Hans Zimmer matching the scene perfectly, and from the second edition of matrix where Neo does a fly away after beating down few agents, he soars high in the skies running through the clouds, a slow frame showing him descend down against the backdrop of a full sized moon, are scenes which never go out from my mind.

It’s not just action that would help us make our epics a mega film it would be the way the action sequences are choreographed which would leave an impact on the audience. Following are my thoughts for Mahabharata:

1) The film can be a trilogy or even more parts, directed LOST series style, let the movie begin on the war turf, the kurukshetra war ground with battle lines drawn, and sun rising from the mountains tearing the mist of silence spread across the ground. A conch blows showing a frame of shadowed Krishna’s headgear with his peacock feather fluttering in the wind, flags waving across the ground, a sword drawn out in air from the kaurava camp.

2) Next frame shows a shadowed image of Arjuna pulling out his bow and fires it across the ground which will then pave way for the opening titles, shown in a format of a Bow zipping across the screen and leaving behind the title credits shown from different angles in the beginning.

3) Then as the credits end the battle cry erupts louder and the images start getting bloodier, as one of the warrior slashes his sword across an opponent, blood spills and the camera view (CGI effect) zooms out to the eyes of Sanjay with a disturbed face, frightened to narrate the war events to his blind king Dhritrashtra.

4) From here the movie would stay focused on the characters of Mahabharata, pulling the audiences back to why a particular character jumped in for this epic war, narrating his part of the story, for example we can show the chariot of Bheeshma standing still, with other Kaurava chariots departing fast to battle the Pandava’s, as Duryodhana looks amazed questioning Bheeshma is he on the side of Kaurava’s or Pandava’s, on which he gets furious and answer’s back Duryodhana, “ Im not here to fight a personal battle like you, im here to fight for Hastinapur” from here the scenes flash back to events that brought Bheeshma to the war, even though he was suffering deep pain from within he chose to be on the wrong side, still fighting for the land he loved, for which he was committed to.

5) Coming down to the aesthetics of the movie, choosing of locales and using a mix of CGI and artificial sets all needs to be done very carefully as overdoing of CGI and artificial sets would kill the emotional side of the movie, the warrior dresses need to show the royalty of the characters still not too heavy and first of all should not look artificial, hair dressing of characters also would be important, accessories all would matter a lot.

Got That LCD

I was looking to buy a good LCD and It was Sony’s bravia series that lit up my senses and i had previously decided to settle for nothing less than a 40" screen, however I realized if were to buy a Sony and that too the model I had eyed which was KLV40S200A which is costing around 94,000 bucks and for that I knew I would have to keep myself waiting for too long.

I then had a look at the Philips 32TA2800 wide screen LCD at Central mall in Pune, while shopping, there were other televisions from Samsung & LG placed there which were running same channel on cable broadcast.

I observed that this model of Philips was performing on par with the colour reproduction of Samsung, though losing out on the Bordeaux series external looks, which did not matter to me much. LG LCD television quality in terms of contrast and colour reproduction was way too poor compared to Samsung & Philips.

I was then waiting for a good offer to buy this model from Philips and this ganesh chaturthi I saw an ad of Philips Arena pricing this television for around 38000 bucks on exchange of any old 21" above colour TV working set. I checked with them on this offer and it was kind of a best deal for me as I also checked out specs of this television, I also checked specs of other LCD TV’s in the same category and finally decided to buy this one since other brands also were offering similar specs with a difference of few features.

One important piece of advice that I would like to give to all those who want to buy a LCD TV, check the performance of the television with a cable connection or a DTH connection, because normally LCD TV’s put on display in most of the shops run a Demo video created by the company which is normally in HD format, which is sure to make you feel that the television would be having outstanding picture quality, however things may not turn out to be the same when you bring it home and get ordinary picture on your regular cable connection or DTH connection.

Ask the dealer in the showroom to change channels, and look out for factor’s like the Motion response time of LCD, which is normally 8ms for most of the brands, for some it is 5ms, this response time will be better the lower, preventing “ghosting” of images on screen, also check if the television is able to reproduce colour combinations flawlessly, check different picture settings of the television for yourself, important one’s being the contrast and colour settings, do not settle for any LCD missing on HD compatibility since technologies like blu-ray and HD discs , HDTV broadcast would start flooding Indian markets, also confirm if the LCD TV has a PC input, in case you want to play your favourite game title on your LCD screen. Also do not give to much of importance to specs because what you can see with your eyes will help you judge what’s better for you.

This television has widescreen HD resolution of 1366 x 768p pixels with a digital crystal clear feature, different screen refresh ratio’s for different video outputs. Following are the screen resolutions available in the television: 4:3, Subtitle Zoom, Superwide, Widescreen, Zoom 14:9, Zoom 16:9, with host of other features. I got this television delivered as promised by the dealer, no hassles, installation was done professionally and I viewed the connection on my Tata Sky connection, clarity was awesome, never encountered any pixelisation issue while viewing, played few movies from my collection, DVD and VCD viewing was more clear and crisp.

I must say there are many superior brands in market offering more high quality products, but I am impressed by after sales service of Philips from the time I had bought one of their DVD music systems 3 years back which developed a snag and I did not expect some one to follow up with me on my complaint and come to my home twice for just getting a music system repaired, and I had denied in the end to repair the music system as I got a new Home Theatre with DVD player, the service person did not even charge for the visit, it was Akshay Service in Pune who is one of their dealers.

I experienced a similar service with Philips again this time, as I write this review I got a call from Akshay service asking me about my availability to give a demo of the LCD with warranty features to be explained and get a feedback about the product and installation experience.

This television may not give you the “SONY” experience, though would not disappoint you as well, because this LCD would actually give you that wide screen experience on a 32” screen, though not as artistic looks of a Samsung Bordeaux, if you are on a budget and seeking a good 32” LCD below 50,000 bucks, this is the television you can bet upon, price of this model is around 49000 – 48000 bucks.
